The NBA world was rocked last week by an ongoing feud that has everyone talking. Fans were left stunned when Lakers star LeBron James angrily confronted ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith. Both sides have since shared their perspectives, and now, Dwyane Wade has weighed in on the saga.

The heated altercation took place on March 6 during a Lakers game against the New York Knicks. In the midst of the chaos, an audio clip of LeBron James surfaced, adding more fuel to the fire. Smith addressed the incident the following day on ESPN’s First Take. It seems like everyone has something to say—and Dwyane Wade is no exception.

Wade backs LeBron

Having played alongside LeBron James and knowing both individuals personally, Dwyane Wade wasn’t shy about sharing his opinion with TMZ Sports when asked about the feud. The former NBA player made it clear: he stands by LeBron.

Wade confidently stated that he would have done exactly the same thing if he were in LeBron’s shoes. The Lakers star sparked the clash by confronting Smith, upset over the commentator’s frequent criticism of his son, Bronny James. LeBron publicly demanded respect for his son, and Dwyane Wade, understanding the paternal instinct, sympathized completely.

A connection to both men

While Dwyane Wade admitted he has love for both LeBron James and Smith, he firmly sided with the King in this particular matter. He even had a candid conversation with Smith, telling the commentator, “I would have approached it the same way.”

Smith, on the other hand, acknowledged LeBron’s frustration but stood by his comments, refusing to retract them. Following the incident, which quickly went viral, Smith expressed that he would have preferred a private confrontation with James. While the feud continues to make waves, Dwyane Wade and many others are firmly in LeBron’s corner, praising the Lakers superstar.
