French soccer legend Thierry Henry has been spending some days in the United States. As a true sports and basketball enthusiast, he seized the opportunity to watch an NBA game from the front row.

This time, the Frenchman attended the Lakers vs. Chicago Bulls game at the Crypto.com Arena. There, Thierry Henry made a memorable gesture with Luka Doncic, one that will forever resonate in the history of both sports.

Thierry Henry’s gesture with Luka

Thierry Henry hasn’t wasted a second during his visit to the United States. The French star witnessed the USA vs. Panama semifinal in the Concacaf Nations League. Then, on Saturday, he enjoyed the Lakers game and met Luka Doncic.

During this game, Thierry Henry didn’t just experience the many thrills of the court. He also played a part in a historic moment. He greeted the Lakers’ rising star, and the two exchanged jerseys.

The Arsenal legend gifted Luka Doncic a Gunners jersey with his name and signature. Meanwhile, the Slovenian player gave Thierry Henry the Lakers’ new kit. Fans called the gesture “incredible,” as it showcased the mutual admiration between these two athletes and their respective sports.

In addition to the jersey exchange with Luka Doncic, Thierry Henry also witnessed LeBron James’ return to the court. The King rejoined his team after missing seven games due to an injury.

However, even with all their stars and Thierry Henry cheering from the stands, the Lakers couldn’t do much against the Bulls. The final result wasn’t what they hoped for, as they fell 146-115.

Lakers didn’t crown the night

Even though the Lakers didn’t clinch a victory, Thierry Henry enjoyed a great game. He had the chance to watch the moves of Chicago stars like Nikola Vucevic, Matas Buzelis, Coby White, and Josh Giddey up close. Luka Doncic delivered an outstanding performance in this game, totaling eight rebounds, six assists, and 34 points—all while wearing the jersey from Henry. Meanwhile, LeBron finished with six rebounds, four assists, and 17 points.

Away from the NBA, it’s likely Henry will turn his attention back to soccer. This time, he’ll enjoy the third-place match and the final of the Concacaf Nations League. It’s worth noting that the French legend is the star analyst for the network that holds broadcasting rights to this tournament.
