Cooper Flagg hopes to return to the court soon
Cooper Flagg’s mother, like his fans, teammates, and coaches, is concerned about his health. After twisting his left ankle in the ACC quarterfinal game against Georgia Tech, the Duke star has not been able to return to the court.
All eyes are currently on Flagg as the NCAA postseason approaches. Unfortunately, he missed the last two games of the championship, although his team still came out victorious.
Duke’s head coach, Jon Scheyer, spoke about Cooper Flagg’s condition and the possibility of his return. He outlined a potential recovery timeline, with Friday as the tentative date for the star player to return to action.
His mother, Kelly Flagg, also hinted at Cooper’s availability for the NCAA tournament. In an interview with Front Office Sports, she shared encouraging information about whether her son will play this weekend. Her response was, “I expect to see him, yes, very soon.”
The Duke Blue Devils’ winning streak remains intact. Cooper Flagg’s return would be a major boost for their performance in the NCAA tournament. The team secured the top seed in the East region. On Friday, they will face the winner of the matchup between American and Mount St. Mary’s in Raleigh, where Flagg might make his long-awaited return to the court.
Duke’s regular season was highly successful. They finished as the highest-ranked team in the AP Top 25. With or without Cooper Flagg, the team is ready for the first-round battle. In fact, Coach Scheyer is confident they will have their star player back. If not, he still trusts his well-rounded team to handle the upcoming challenges.
