Deion Sanders defended his son with class and respect
Deion Sanders is no stranger to criticism. As a high-profile football coach, he often finds himself in the spotlight. However, when it comes to his son, Shedeur Sanders, he never hesitates to stand up for him.
That’s exactly what happened when online critics started attacking Shedeur on X for skipping the NFL Combine.
It all started when a user took to X to harshly criticize Shedeur Sanders, the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback, for his decision not to throw at the NFL Combine. The post was blunt and personal:
“You should be ashamed that your son (Shedeur) isn’t throwing at the Combine… He’ll never amount to anything, and you should be disappointed.”
Rather than reacting with anger, Deion Sanders responded with grace and confidence. Instead of engaging in negativity, he chose a positive and faith-driven reply: “God is so good to me and all my children. I pray that you experience this same feeling with your kids. Praying for you, my man. God bless you.”
This wasn’t the first time Shedeur Sanders decided to skip an opportunity to showcase his skills ahead of the Draft. Back in January, he also chose not to participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl. His decision follows a strategy used by many top quarterback prospects.
Shedeur Sanders isn’t the only high-profile player opting to prepare on his own terms. Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and Caleb Williams also skipped the Combine’s passing drills, choosing instead to showcase their talents at their respective pro days.
Colorado’s pro day is yet to be officially announced, but fans are eagerly anticipating the event. This will be a crucial moment for Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, who will have a prime opportunity to impress NFL scouts.
