Travis Kelce’s role in the Chiefs Could Change for the 2025 season

The almost unbeatable streak of the Kansas City Chiefs last season was often credited to Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Chiefs fans loved seeing her in the stands during games, believing the singer to be a kind of lucky charm for victories.

All of that changed on February 9th during the Super Bowl, when the Kansas City Chiefs suffered a devastating loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite Taylor Swift being there to support Travis Kelce, even her presence couldn’t magically alter the outcome. Following this, major speculations arose about their relationship and whether the star would return to the games.

Taylor Swift back in the field?

Now, Taylor Swift’s influence on the decisions of the Chiefs’ tight end is more than evident. After the February finale, there were numerous rumors about a potential retirement for Travis Kelce.

Some even claimed that stepping back could be the best decision to spend more time with Taylor Swift. However, by mid-March, Travis Kelce announced that he would return for another campaign with the Chiefs. With the veteran back on the field, the question remains: what role will his girlfriend play?

Well, according to a couple of sources close to the couple who spoke to Page Six, Taylor Swift is committed to being present at Travis’s games. For her, Kelce’s sports career is very important, and supporting him is among her priorities.

A schedule full of appearances

According to the sources, Taylor Swift will continue being her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s lucky charm. However, they also warned that the 35-year-old singer might have a stronger presence at home games.

Apparently, Taylor Swift will attend away games for the Chiefs as well, but to a lesser extent. This is mainly due to personal security concerns. According to the cited sources, Travis Kelce wants her there, and she’s delighted to make it happen.

A big return

The new NFL season is close to kicking off, and all the teams are gearing up with their best strategies. As for the Chiefs, they’ll have their lucky charm, Taylor Swift. In this regard, Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice expressed his influence on Travis’s return to the field.

“I won’t lie, I’m 95% of the reason he didn’t retire. I told him he couldn’t retire like that; we needed to make sure to get it next year. I’m pretty sure he was hanging it up. And I told him: we can’t retire like that. We have to win that Super Bowl—I’ll make sure we win it, that’s what I told him.”
